Chargefield completed titles for Demetri Martin's directorial debut, Dean, which he also wrote and stars in as a New York illustrator who heads to Los Angeles seeking career success. Also featuring Kevin Kline and Gillian Jacobs, it will be premiering at this year's Tribeca Film Festival. The festival opens April 13 with The First Monday in May, about the Met’s fashion exhibition, and runs through April 24.

The Department of Digital Works had a great run providing VFX and motion graphics services to film, TV and commercial productions, including being nominated for a Streamy Award for Best VFX. VFX and motion graphics were only part of what the team specializes in however, so The DDW has been folded into a brand new company - Chargefield.
We had the pleasure of collaborating once again with director Sheldon Candis on a pitch book that came to fruition in the form of a new Misty Copeland docu-series for Macy’s and Under Armour. An insightful Film Independent interview with Sheldon about the series and the pitching process has just been released. Pitch books are an effective way of illustrating ideas in a way words alone won’t, and a great way to stand out amongst the competition.
Celluloid Dreams, the short film directed by Jonathan Dillon that Clayton D’Mello and John Godfrey of Chargefield served as co-producers on, had its World Premiere screening on June 1 and won the Grand Jury Award at the 17th Annual Dances With Films, in Hollywood on June 8. As part of that award, Laemmle Theatres is giving the short an Academy Award qualifying theatrical run. The film’s theatrical run will be Tuesday, August 5 – Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Laemmle’s NoHo 7 in North Hollywood. Check it out if you’re in the LA area!
Produced by Dick Clark Productions (The Golden Globes, American Music Awards), The Streamy Awards are a live event that honours the best digital content of the year. Clayton D’Mello and John Godfrey are honoured to receive a nomination in the Best Visual Effects category, for their work on the Machinima/Lionsgate produced zombie comedy “Bite Me”.
